ZrMs Schroefschip Bonaire was built in 1877 and served for the Dutch navy until the year 1902. After that the ship was mainly used as an accomodation ship for cadets. Since 1996 the Bonaire is lying in a antique drydock in Den Helder, the dutch navy harbour, waiting for restauration which has started a while ago.

Soon the ship will be fully revived in her original state and serve as a museum ship for display in the drydock in Den Helder, The Netherlands.
