This is a 9.5 meter Quick Response Vessel or Rescue RIB and was originally developed for Coastguard North Shore at Brown’s Bay, Auckland. She is a development of our highly successful 9.0m (30’) FRV currently in service with the Pauanui-Tairua Coastguard. This is boat is driven by twin 250 Hp outboard engines and features a bow cockpit which will further extend the capabilities of the earlier design. The overall beam is slightly increased allowing for a touch more elbow room all round. The hull deadrise has increased marginally to around 20°. Essentially, however the basic philosophy and features of the 9.0m (30’) FRV will be retained so as not to stray too far from that proven concept.

In summary it has been well worthwhile working closely with the highly skilled crew at Coastguard Northshore. They were most adamant about their needs which is surely a result of considered and well-drilled methods and rescue procedures. More of the same vessels currently operate at other units. The boat for Coastguard North Shore has been replaced by a new vessel (design #146) in 2017 and the 9.5m is currently serving for the Houhora Coastguard.

This robust aluminium RIB is suitable for Coastguard, search and rescue (SAR), Pilot vessel, Police vessel, firefighting, military or high speed pleasure cruising boat.
